To provide activities and programs which are interesting to the cadet and which at the same time affords opportunities for developing proper skills and attitudes which are necessary to reach the specific aims of activities, physically, mentally and socially.
To foster a spirit of friendship and sociability among cadets. Keep in mind that cadets rave physical activity also that usually the cadets "interest span" is very short, especially the younger group. To provide activities which afford educational values as well as fun and pleasure.
It is unreasonable to expect a child to follow the same routines week in and week out. It is not necessary that a child have prolonged holidays in the country although these are beneficial if they are possible. most children although normally untidy, can be taught to care for their own belongings. This will help teach the child that responsibility and neatness can be fun.
We try to provide not only activities that will help the cadet today but that will help in their futures.
Boroughs and streets are not free of delinquency. It is and always has been natural for children to rebel against authority. The increased pressures and demands of mechanized society have however, accelerated the pace of delinquency in recent times. As the influence of parents and community in creating delinquency becomes understood, it is hoped that methods of preventing delinquency will be discovered in the cadets. Once we suspect a problem child, the nature of the problem and ways to deal with it can be determined. A busy child who is comfortable and at ease with us will not create any problems.
We can not provide all the answers in the cadets but the cadets is a place where the child can learn to better himself. (And at the same time learn to work with others).
